Spring Surge: Squad Growth & Skills Boost

Spring season training has brought more practices and exponential advancement in skill and athletic ability! We are now holding practices four times a week, splitting time equally between water and erg training. 

The squad has nearly doubled, thanks to our amazing kick-off event, positive word of mouth, and the location of our ergs right at the entrance of the Xavier Fitness Center. We can also now boast a co-ed squad and are working hard at advancing skills in both sweeping and sculling.

We were also honored to host Coach Marqus Brown at the end of February to help advance new and returning rowers in their abilities. Coach Marqus ran an afternoon sweep session that helped rowers learn about why its important to be connected at the catch, how to improve their balance in the boat, and the value of pause drills in working on quick and clean finishes. Everyone learned so much and were excited to again host a guest coach when Kevin Harris joined us this last weekend!
